A new Era...A new President

Good Evening and welcome once again to the Blog Party. Tonight, I want to get your personal reaction/reflection to the history that was made two days ago. What feelings are you experiencing now, and how has this "change" in our country challenging you to look a little deeper within you to model what you have witnessed? Also give some thought to what our elders suffered for this time in history to come to light.

Once again....welcome, and feel free to share your activities and the mood around you when it was announced that Senator Barack Obama was now "President-Elect Obama."

Note: I will join you all on this blog a little later this evening, so we will continue this evening until 12 midnight.

Good evening everyone! I am so excited that we have Obama in office. It made me think of the slaves who only wanted freedom to now turn around and see that we have a man that is black and white leading America the "geat melting pot" is not only a testimony to how far we as a people have come! America has repositioned itself by saying "We" are tired of the same thing "We" need change! I just pray that everyone will understand that change takes you out of your comfort zone "We" just cant change for the moment then when things dont go the way we want we jump ship anything worth having is worth fighting for "We" have to roll up our sleeves and get all the way in this thing to benefit all not just black America.

Good Evening everyone and also to you Sister Tiffany. I think that we have not only seen what hard work and dedication can bring, but what sacrifice from those before us will provide. As a parent, there are things that I had to give up so that my sons could and would be able to enjoy. This is the same experience that President-Elect Obama is experiencing now. He will be the President of ALL and not just some. His path is long, his mountains will be very high, but the journey is not one that he will travel alone...we ALL need to support and commit to. I am not only excited, but I am prepared to protect and sustain OUR Leader.

I would also like to see our country move away from thinking of the United States as a "melting pot." When you melt something, it loses it shape and identity. That is what makes this election so wonderful...President Obama did not lose his identity...he maintained who he was/is and America accepted him for just what he brought to the table...Change!

The USA is a collection of wonderful differences that makes this country what it is today! Just think if Thanksgiving dinner was just a table full of just turkey...everything looking the exact same way, how enjoyable would that be. It is when everyone that comes brings their different dishes that makes the meal wonderful and you can appreciate the variety that is set before you.
