What Can we do

Good Evening everyone and welcome. Here is the topic for the evening...with President Obama now elected to the highest office in the land, what can we do to make certain that his presidency meets the expectations that seem to be the headlines of every media outlet today?

How has President Obama's election changed your attitude (at work, home and even at your place of worship)?

Good evening, I feel that prayer is going to be one of the best ways to help President Obama because He will be trying to get things turned in the right direction. Personally the attitude that I like that I have seen society take part in is that there is no limit of the things you can accomplish!

I agree with Sis. Tiffany. We must pray for him and his family. My pastor has always asked us to pray for our leaders. God is in control of this total situation and have been since the beginning of his decision to run for the office of President. We as people of God have to be encouraging and know that it will take years to get things back on track, and when the negative responses start that he's not doing his job, we have to be the ones to tell them that God works in his own time and patience will prove success. I'm so excited to see God at work. This helps me encourage the young men in my family and those that I come across.

Thank both of you for your responses, and yes it will take prayer for our leader and those that work along side of him. One thing that the anonymous writer said is that it will take time to correct what has been broken for so long. While all of us can sit around and talk about what is not right, we must take on the challenge of WORKING to make thing better. This task is to great for any one person, so I caution folk who have placed all of their hope and trust in President Obama to "fix it." This election was based totally on crossing party, color, gender and economic lines! As an individual, I see that this election has shown me that it is the least likely that will come to your aid when you least expect it.
We, as a country and especially as a body of believers, must STOP the judgement of others without knowing really why these feelings of insecurity and distrust grow within us. I was always taught, unless you know (not based on what someone else has said) don't conclude. There were some folk who did not vote for President Obama because they just "felt like" he would not be a good leader. Some did not because of how he looked (skin color)...but even Samuel did not think that David would be the one that God would anoint to be King, but again...Samuel did not know, because he had not seen nor even met David. At the end of the day...it is not about even what you see or think...it is about what God has ordained! Think about it..how many times have you been overlooked and even the subject of someone elses conclusion about who you are without ever getting to know the real facts about you? It is not about us anyway...it's about Him!
