Good Thursday evening, and welcome!
Tonight I want to take the discussion in a different direction than previous weeks. We all have been hearing about the Bail Outs that the Federal Government has provided for Wall Street and other financial institutions (AIG, CITIBANK). We also have heard the strict regulations that some in Congress have placed on citizens who aren't able to find employment or need to rely on Government Assistance.
Do you think that it's fair for Billions of $$$ to be given to companies (with hundreds of thousands of employees) to bail them out when others are suffering from day to day to feed their families? Also, spiritually, do you think that Christ would approve of the actions of Washington for Wall Street and Detriot while looking past not just Main Street, but Martin Luther King Blvd. as well?

Good evening everyone!
I personnally do not think that the Bail Outs are NOT fair. I dont see how helping some and not all is right. There are so many people struggling to make it on a day to day basis and when they seek help from the goverment they are denied. For instance I am a health care provider now both of the parents of the child I take care of are both out of work and have been for some time. When they have applied for goverment funding they were told they make to much money!Yet the goverment wants to give companies who have "mismanaged funds" a break! What about the average 9-5 worker trying to take care of a family and their funds dont stretch.
On the flip side of that if you are a child of God you will have the understanding that God will supply your needs regardless of what the world goes through because when you accepted Him you became a new creature all things became new. So in the time of a recession you have to exercise your faith and fully rely on Him! Dont look at the right now look at what He has promised!
The current economic status is a wakeup call for EVERYONE. There are many who will suffer because of greed, but something within me feels that if we take a little time out to pray and ask God for understanding, a solution is around the corner.
People are desperate, which causes the increase in crime.
It's praying time!
We have all been hit hard by the economic shut down of this country. The affects are being felt world wide, yet who feels the pain of the very same folk who's tax dollars are helping bail out companies that have mismanaged their business. Isn't it strange that when an individual does not manage his/her financial affairs properly, the only source of relief that one has is "go under" or bankrupcy (which damages your credit report). The financial institutions seem to take care of one another until they find that they are all in the same boat, and the very ones that they turn to are some (if not most) of the same folk that they have turned down for loans because of their past credit history!
