Recently in Bible Class, we discussed the notion of humbleness and what makes a person humble. We know the "signs" of humbleness, but in your opinion, what makes a person humble?
Last night, we heard a Congressman (Joe Wilson (R) SC) blurt out to the President of the United States "You lie!" Today, in his humbleness and with a tremendous out cry from citizens and even fellow Congressmen/women, he was forced to apologize for his comments. What are your thoughts on the lack of Respect for leadership..and not just in the government, but even in the church.
Let's Talk!

In my opinion, the Holy Spirit makes a person humble. The Holy Spirit convicts us and IF we adhere to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, we will know how to be humble. We cannot become humble on our own or it just doesn't come naturally. If it did we wouldn't have individuals disrespecting LEADERSHIP. Humbleness is pure submission, nothing more or nothing less. And without the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us, we cannot depend on flesh or our carnal thinking to make us submit. It will never happen. We need to ask God to fill us with the Holy Spirit and humbleness/respect will not be an issue, especially to the Christian believer.
